So as you probably already know, I recently bought, bake by Tina Bester, a well known Capetonian cook and owner of Queen of Tarts, a vintage inspired eatery. When I saw those adorable heart cookies on the book's cover, I knew I had to give them a try and in time for Valentines Day too. This also inspired me to start a new series here on my blog... I will be doing a monthly Sweet Tooth post, dedicated to new recipes, baking ideas and inspiration and all things sweet! In future it will run on the first Monday of each month! So stay tuned!
If this recipe is anything to go by, bake is an absolute must, apart from the gorgeous photos, the recipes are straight forward, easy to follow and simply delicious! You can easily try something similar at home with a simple butter biscuit recipe, baking both halves and sandwiching them together with strawberry jam and adding a final dusting of icing sugar! You could even use a different shapes for the cut-outs, stars would be great too, don't you think?
