The attempt at a play on words featured in the title made sense in my head. Look, things don't always translate on the big screen. But let's talk about more important things like volatility, interest rates and...plaid! Some of the biggest and best hunks in the business, like Thakoon, Rag & Bone, Isabel Marant and Opening Ceremony highlighted the exquisite lumberjack meets Scottish Wedding nature of my favorite seasonal trend. And while yes, it's true, this isn't the first nor will it be the last time that the print sprouts up in excess, I will say it's been particularly pleasing and interesting this season. As it happens, plaids not just a print for your button up anymore.

Take these two looks for example. Aside from some of the uncanny similarities these two collections share, i.e. tapered pant, plaid accents and kickin' it back cobalt, where else have you seen a puffer vest equipped with requisite peplum? Or some perfectly plaid pants with thick leather lines through them? No where? Interesting. As you can see, I have nothing meaningful to say about volatility and interest rates. What I can tell you though, on an unrelated note, is that below you will find but another rendition of my favorite game: If The Internets Were My Closet. Here's to Scotland. ...What?
jacket: Thakoon, blouse: J. Crew, hat: Rag & Bone, shoes: Giuseppe Zanotti, jeans: Alexander Wang, bracelets: DANNIJO, Yves Saint Laurent, clutch: Diane Von Furstenberg
Not going to lie, I bought the jacket yesterday. And it ain't a plaid story without mixing a couple versions together! Try bootcut denim, extra repeller points for aluminum style stitching. Compliment your inner alien with more silver detailing on your feet with a good pair of amazon wedges. Counter your plaids with a spotted clutch. Add a topper to shield your eyeballs. Ignore the brass and add some gold. And finally, remember of course, to bring your arm party.
