And We're Back, Round Up Part III

And this one will cover some of Saturday sprinkled over the happenings of yesterday. It's a whirlwind romance, really. The flimsy silks and fun silhouettes depress the hell out of what will likely be a dirty winter to come. If only we could fast forward, right? Right? I'm running on very little sleep and my fashion terets has become severe. I've really just started screaming designer names at strangers. Awkward for them, fun for me. But enough about that, let's talk shows! Starting on Saturday with none other than the famous Alexander Wang show, I give you...
Perforated leather bandannas, pocketed bustiers--utility bustier, if you will--and some very interesting soccer jersey inspired sweaters featuring sheer underlays. More granny panties, hooray! While not pictured I should also note there were what looked like traffic control sweaters featuring neon orange details, leather golf bags and helmets. Yes golf bags. The show was absolutely insane. Seated at a stadium by Pier 94, I speculate the show is what the very first football game ever looked like. Bleachers, et al. Even more so, the runway was divided by large reflective stands and so even if the model was far from your section, you could see her mirrored reflection. Holy fancy pants.
...And from edgy bad ass to power girl of the early nineties, Charlotte Ronson showed what may have perhaps been my favorite collection of hers yet. With sheer flimsy skirts, really great denim details, a tiered-layer cake jumpsuit and dun dun dun, orange ombre mini-madness, everything rendered super wearable.
And now, for Thakoon. Holy Thakoon. While there were several really great pant looks, I was loving hard on these super full super rad shorts that strut down the runway at The Plaza in several different variations. The collection was predominantly inspired by the west and while that seemed a bring treend last fall, this read wildly unique, unlike anything else, I hope Barney's picks up the far right peplum. And the hair seemed to perfectly dyed the match the pictured looks. I'll give it a try.
One more image for good measure. See? I told you the pants rocked too.
And finally, yesterday ended with Timo Weiland's very first runway show.
And a grand success it was. Always commended for his prints and form flattering silhouettes, this collection really just took a cake I didn't know he was even trying to bake. With midis paired with bustiers, full mini dresses, sheer mini dresses and a closing set of cocktail party-friendly maxi dresses, I said it yesterday, I'll say it again, perhaps the most covetable and simultaneously wearable collection yet.

Now I'm off to do silly shit like oh, you know, walk in Rebecca Minkoff's show. Hope I don't fall on my face! Kidding, I kind of do. Kidding, I don't. Anyway, tootles!
