Shades of blue

I'm dreaming about this little chest of drawers full of ribbons and odds and ends...

And don't you love this lace edged floating shelf...

I'm not really a "blue" person when it comes to interiors but there's something to be said for this colour, so calming and peaceful, perhaps I'll have to reconsider?! What are your thoughts on blue?
