Badge of Honor

If a preppy style wedding tickles your fancy then I suggest you get your hands on these cuter than cute preppy badges. Available from Bloomsbury Store they are such a cute idea for an engagement party or wedding. I think the bridesmaids badges would even look cute pinned onto your maids bouqets. Priced at £3.43 each they are a fun way to add a bit more personality to your day. Bloomsbury Store will ship internationally so visit them at www.bloomsburystore.com to place your order.

One for the Boys
Oftentimes, with all the excitement and anticipation surrounding the wedding dress, the poor old fellas are forgotton. The boys have few options with which to express their style – a snappy boutonniere is one way they can really make a statement. Our friends at Ruby Press blogged about Fritts Rosenow recently - what a fabulous range of interesting buttonholes. I love the one made from playing cards - although I can't help but hear the theme song to Kath & Kim in my head when I see it!

Goodwin Charli
Melbourne tailored fashion label Godwin Charli has opened its second Melbourne store, one year after opening their flagship store in Little Collins Street. Known for their attention to detail, superb fit, and classic lines, the brand specializes in men’s and women’s suiting, shirts and accessories. Influenced by the arts, and the charm of vintage, Godwin Charli aims to create and celebrate beautiful clothing, both off-the-rack, and made-to-measure. Using the finest fabrics, sourced from mills across Europe, each garment is handcrafted and constructed in Melbourne, and delivers an old-fashioned take on modern tailoring, from elegant pant-suits and skirts for women to sharp suiting for men. The current Godwin Charli collection for men and women features eccentric preppy-style jackets and sharp silhouettes in suiting with a colour palette of solid and textured greys and browns. For men, shirts feature strong, tall collars with small checks and subtle striped patterns, in mint, red, pink, purple, blue and classic florals. Accessories include both skinny and traditional width ties, in basic and textured blacks, navy, grey, florals and polka dot patterns. Plain and patterned pocket-handkerchiefs complete a perfectly preppy look. The second Godwin Charli store is situated at 24 Collins Street, Melbourne. It's always a nice gesture to personally thank those people who have made your special day that much more special and your groomsmen are no exception. The range includes the indispensable card holder, memo pad tray, pin tray, letter opener, ruler and box along with a 4R photo frame and ashtray. The Octane collection is styled to be sexy and sporty but at the same time fun and quirky. I think it's always nice to give a gift that can be engraved and these pieces would be perfect for that extra special, personalised gift. Menswear - Milan A/W 09/10
The star or the menswear parades would have to be, without a doubt, Dolce & Gabbana. Their suits were beyond beautiful. Quirky colours may not be your thing but the fabrics, cut and styles of the suits are to be truly admired. Dsquared2 was another show I really enjoyed. Classic but hip... just the way it should be. Moschino brought the bowler back. Very sophisticated when worn correctly. Versace and Gianfranco Ferre adorned their men in everything sparkly and shiny... hot, hot, hot. It was hard to pick a small amount of pics to show you but I figured you'd enjoy admiring them as much as I did! Note: the bow tie's making a massive return!

Cute Cufflinks

The boys do seem to get left out when it comes to accessorizing their wedding day outfit. Cufflinks are one way to add a bit of personality and they also make great groomsman gifts. Here are some I found on Etsy.

At QA Create's shop you can order customised typwriter cufflinks. You could use your grooms initials or maybe even the bride and groom, they are a steal at only $29.99 USD plus postage.

Over at Tiny Token Designs they make personalised hand stamped cufflinks. You can put your names, wedding date or phrase on the cufflink, its totally up to you! They cost $70 USD plus postage.

For those wanting to put a secret message on the cufflinks then head to Smashing's shop where you can have a custom message on the back of the cufflinks. They start from $85 USD plus postage.

Man-O-Man
More often than not it's the glamorous women who receive all the red carpet glory. Not this time around! The men definitely upped the ante at the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Looking sleek and sophisticated there was no denying the men looked every inch the screen stars they are. It's not always necessary to go for a stock standard suit for your wedding. Let your mans style shine through with a suit that truly reflects his personality and tastes. You never know, they may end up looking like one of these fine gentlemen. Fingers crossed!

Little Gem
Emilie received this gorgeous little book from the publisher today, ABC of Men's Fashion by the renown Hardy Amies. Originally penned by Amies in 1964, this incarnation comes as a striking clothbound book, in calming sea greens and blues, complete with charming illustrations from the original sixties' edition. This glossary of men's fashion is surprisingly contemporary considering it was written over 40 years ago, with many of the entries relating as much today as they did then. Use it as an etiquette guide, refer to it when guidance is required. A really interesting read.

ABC of Men's Fashion Gift Edition by Hardy Aimes AUS$24.95

The original edition, published in 1964. Funnily enough, referred to as 'a style guide'... just like us!

The 14th Annual Critics Choice Awards
There was more colour and formality to the Critics Choice Awards. Brad Pitt looked as handsome as ever in a dashingly formal dinner suit. Short was still best with Best Actress winner Anne Hathaway opting for a two-tone strapless number. Glamorous clutches have made a delightful statement with metalics looking to be a hot favourite for the remainder of the awards shows.
