Shoe Shop Heaven

Entering a swanky shoe store with shelves and shelves of sequined, embellished, patent, satin heeled shoes sends me into a bit of a spin. You know the look on a childs face when they enter a lolly shop? Well that's how I feel about shoes. One of my favourite shoe stores is Melbourne's Miss Louise. It's the place to go for your dose of designer deliciousness. Balenciaga, Balmain, Brian Atwood, Chloe, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent and many more will have you taking big, deep breaths praying that weak moment, where you whip out your credit card in a frenzy, doesn't arrive. Miss Louise has a gorgeous range of bridal shoes that give hope to all those brides who are anti the boring, ugly bridal shoes that are so often on offer. Bridal shoes can be stylish and sexy... just ask Miss Louise. Visit www.misslouise.com.au or visit the store at 205 Collins Street at the Westin, Melbourne.

Sparkle & Shine
I don't think a single day goes by where I don't see a pair of shoes and sigh, thinking to myself, "why can't I have you?". These MiuMiu glitter gold pumps made me sigh, tilt my head to the right and wonder how something that goes on your feet, which in turn gets put on the ground, can look so gorgeous. With jeans or the ultimate little black dress (think a Herve Leger number) I think they would be a complete knockout. Available from www.net-a-porter.com or visit www.miumiu.com.

All a-flutter
My lovely friend Mo Hardy, designer and decorator extraordinaire, has told me about her good friend Lucy MacGill's new venture - Angel Wings Accessories. When I had dinner with Mo she had the most divine handbag from Lucy's range which prompted me to visit her new website. Some really beautiful pieces, original and refreshing.

Python with Chocolate Handle

Patent with Python Strap

Large Cream Fur Bag

Slash Bag

A girl's gotta have a nice bag - think of the honeymoon after all! Stockists' details are available on the website.

PS. For those interested Mo made a cameo appearance in our Issue 4 - A Class Act story. She kindly lent us her stunning kitchen and we roped her into one of the shots–that's her stirring the saucepan in her spiffy chef's jacket. What are friends for!

Shoe Love
As many of our dear bloggers will know I'm a bit of a shoe addict. Shoe's were, according to my Mum, my first passion, followed closely by friends, boys and parties. I had to share with you these most gorgeous Christian Louboutin's. OH MY! Love comes in many shapes and forms and for me, these are it! Although on the very pricey side they would be worth every cent. Imagine your bridesmaids sashaying down the aisle in these numbers. No doubt you would have girls eyeing them off... and not in the kind way. Available online from www.net-a-porter.com.

Fantastic Felt
I adore these lovely felt corsages from Etsy by AAliciaAccessories. The simplicity and elegance of these beautiful pieces would be a perfect adornment for a winter wedding outfit - many of them would even look divine used as table decorations, winding down the centre of the table.

Choo for Everyone
I don't think I've ever met a girl who hasn't wished for a pair of Jimmy Choo's. They're the dream, the benchmark... and they make me very excited! I have, today, become rather jealous and a little bitter. Jimmy Choo are releasing a collection for High Street mega store H&M. If you are lucky enough to live in North America, Europe, the Middle East or Asia you will, no doubt, be rubbing your hands with glee while those of us who do not have an H&M store within reach scowl and think 'why me?'. From November 14 H&M will stock Jimmy Choo accessories for men and women, as well as a clothing line. So, get yourself prepped to battle the crowds on November 14. These hot little pieces will be gone before you have the chance to bat your eyelashes at the sales assistant. Visit www.hm.com for further details.

If the Shoe Fits... Then Buy Them!
I am an avid shoe fiend. I'm not going to lie... I've had an obsession with high heels ever since I could balance myself well enough to strut down the corridor in my Mum's silver Midas slingbacks, circa 1986. Although sometimes majorly impractical and painful there is nothing more satisfying than purchasing a pair of shoes that gets your heart racing and that you don't want to take off, even when you sleep. Well... my desire to purchase a sparkly new pair of towering heels has, unfortunatley, sky rocketed today. I've discovered Nicholas Kirkwood. Sleek lines, beautiful leathers and fabrics, embellishments, buckles, laces and pearls make up a collection that is truly a work of art. Forget Picasso and Monet... I want Nicholas Kirkwood! Available in Australia at Dio Dato Shoes, Shop 1, 28 Cross Street, Double Bay, Sydney.

Autumnal Apricot
We're now in the lovely, romantic season of Autumn. You can tell because the trees are changing colours and the grass is becoming lush and green. Autumn is a great season to draw inspiration from as the rich but subtle colours can make great additions to a wedding. Apricot is such a pretty, feminine colour. I came across this amazing Notte by Marchessa gown on net-a-porter and fell in love. The colour is just divine! Back in issue 6 of Style Guide we did a super pretty apricot shoot. It's a colour that can be incorporated into a wedding in so many different ways. Fashion, cake, food, table settings, flowers... the list is endless. I've put together a Polyvore showing the plethora of ways apricot can be used. I've even incl. some gorgeous Style Guide stationery that can be purchased at our online store.

To find out more about the pieces incl. in this Polycore just click on it.

Bag Lady
Spencer & Rutherford, one of Australia’s leading luxury handbag and accessories labels, recently celebrated its 1oth anniversary with a lavish celebration held in St Kilda. I was lucky enough to be invited but was unable to attend due to shooting all our wonderful stories for issue 11 of Style Guide, on sale 24 June. The magical evening, with stunning millinery from Richard Nylon, fashion by Anthea Crawford, enchanting music from Wildflowers and a mystical fortune teller on hand to predict the future of fashion enthralled guests. The exciting new collection, The Game of Love, was dramatically unveiled and showcased throughout the evening. The highlight, however, was the incredible retrospective display, showcasing select elegant, divine and feminine bags from the last 10 years of Spencer & Rutherford. A big Happy 10th Birthday to the lovely team at Spencer & Rutherford!
