Kate & Dominic

Today I wanted to share with you some gorgeous images of Kate & Dominic's wedding day that didn't fit into the latest issue of Wedding Style Guide. The wedding and reception took place at the amazing Trisara Resort and Spa in Phuket. Kate looked absolutely stunning in her Pallas dress and i just loved her sequined peep toes also from Pallas. Infinity photgraphy captured the day beautifully.

A Few of My Favourite Things (well one of them anyway...)

Our latest issue is packed full of the most gorgeous real weddings. They are a real insight into the details that are important to brides today. Here at Wedding Style Guide, we're noticing a real trend towards couples choosing interesting venues for their reception to minimise their decoration spend.

One of my favourite real weddings from Issue 12 is that of Nicki and Ben. It looked like such a relaxed and fun day - minimal effort but maximum effect. Their venue was already brightly decorated meaning they really had to do very little to make the space look spectacular. Definitely something to consider if working to a budget.

Their photographs were taken by the lovely Shona Henderson. Her photographs seem to capture the real emotions of the day.

One Boy One Girl....

One of our favourite weddings in the next issue (which we are madly working on now!) is of American couple Nicole and Adam. Nicole is actually a very talented photographer (see her website here) and has just launched a new site called One Boy One Girl dedicated to her wedding photography. Below are some beautiful examples of her work. Keep a look out for Nicole's own wedding in our next issue - on sale 23.09.09!

A Day In The Country
Last week I blogged about the beautiful country garden wedding inspiration I found at The Brides Cafe. It reminded me of one of my all time favourite weddings which we created at the breathtaking Golding Vineyards. The whole Style Guide team were involved with our fabulous photographer Claudio Raschella documenting the day. A unique agricultural fair theme was the couple's vision, with fun and relaxation the order of the day for guests. A few years have passed now since the wedding, and it is so nice to once again revisit such a wonderful day. The perfect inspiration for a country wedding!

The couple spent months before their wedding lovingly making home made jams and preserves for the stunning self serve produce stand for their guests.

The garden inspired selection of flowers included Asters and Dahlias which we arranged in vintage preserving jars. Each jar was finished with a swing tag revealing the flower variety in true agricultural show style.

Thrifty Style
I love it when I see a couple completely confident in their own style. Meet Sherry and John - the result is a wedding that is just so full of affection you can't help but love it. With this much TLC who needs a big budget to have a wonderful wedding?

Designer Detail
We have had such great feedback on the below real wedding featuring Jade and Brendan in the current issue. There have been so many comments on the beautiful chantilly lace gown made especially for her by Steven Khalil. We think it is absolutely stunning!

Pink Sky at Night, Shepherds Delight

One colour we see popping up on maids all the time is pretty pale pink. Whether it be a true dusty pink, bright as fairy floss or a washed out, nearly white, pale pink it's a colour that many girls flock to when they're tying the knot. I fell in love with this pretty Stella McCartney dress on Net-A-Porter and thought what an ideal bridesmaid's dress it would make. The sheer netting at the top adds some edge to an otherwise classic, pretty dress with the pleating detail taking it from pretty to simply perfect. If you're wanting to glam it up a bit try pinning a brooch just underneath the bust pleat. How divine! Visit www.net-a-porter.com to buy online.

Here's some ideas as to how Style Guide bride's are using pale pink on their maids and flower girls. In all shapes, sizes and shades it will add a touch of romance to your day.

Kate Patterson & Dominic Etheridge's wedding featured in 'Paradise Found' in issue 12. I loved the waist pleats of Kate's bridesmaids dresses. A great detail that flatters almost any body shape. Maids dresses from Forever New, photography by Infinity Photography, bouquets by Trisara.

Tania Ohannessian & Simon Goubran's wedding featured in 'Love in the City' in issue 11. Mono-shoulder dresses are very popular at the moment and with a gorgeous shoulder detail like a bow they will certainly stand out. Julia Galvan & Marc Johnstone's wedding featured in 'A Glamorous Event' slso in issue 11. We had so many enquiries from readers asking us where Julia got her simply gorgeous flower girl dresses from. It turns out Julia designed them herself and got them made in Singapore. I love the frilled hem! Simply Elegant

I was looking at Nicole Hill Gurulat's blog today - we featured her amazing wedding, shot by Elizabeth Messina in Issue 12.

What caught my eye on Nicole's blog were these shots of her cousin Amanda's wedding hairstyle. So elegant, so simple, so stylish. Oh, and not only is Nicole a talented photographer and stylist but she made her cousin's hairpiece. Now that's a multi-tasker! Absolutely beautiful.

Sam Hawthorne and Iain Kennedy

We featured the gorgeous Sam and Iain's wedding in the latest issue of Wedding Style Guide. Sam is originally from Queensland and her groom was from Scotland. To include all of their friends and families they decided to have two weddings, one on Stradbroke Island in Queensland and the other in a beautiful Scottish Castle. The venues were polar opposites from each other but both were absolutely striking. Both weddings were shot beautifully by Blumenthal Photography.

Below is some of the Australian wedding as featured in Issue 12

Stradbroke Weddings did all of the event coordination and styling

And here are some beautiful images from their Scottish wedding
