Loving Linen
I've written about my string obsession before, well my linen/flax obsession comes in a close second. Linnet have the most glorious linens, cottons and wool fabrics and notions. The difficult part is deciding which ones to buy! Absolutely anything on this site would be perfect for a natural, environmentally friendly themed event. Be sure, you'll be seeing a lot more of these products in the future.

Bloomin' Beautiful

Spring is arguably the most beautiful time of year to be married, particularly if you're a bride who loves her flowers. Pom Poms

I've had a few queris as to where you can buy the tissue paper pom poms from yesterday's post. I am pretty sure Martha Stewart was the first one to sell them on her craft website, but I can't find them there any more. So the next place I thought to look was etsy. There are a number of sellers selling the pom poms like Party Poms who sell a huge range of colours, they also ship worldwide.

If you are feeling crafty you could try making them yourself, here is a link to Martha Stewarts' website which shows you step by step how to make them. If you do try - Good luck! I tried, and the result was not pretty!!

Dessert Tables Part 1

I think we have mentioned quite a few times on this blog and in our magazine here that we are big fans of Amy Atlas. She has updated her blog with some new pictures of a dessert table made for a client in the Hamptons. Biscuit Envy
Elizabeth Syer, our London Correspondent, just sent through a link to this gorgeous website, Pretty Tasty in the UK. These aniseed biscuits are what caught my eye - so exquisite in their detail. They suggest having them made with holes so that they can be hung as ornaments. What a lovely idea.

A Day In The Country
Last week I blogged about the beautiful country garden wedding inspiration I found at The Brides Cafe. It reminded me of one of my all time favourite weddings which we created at the breathtaking Golding Vineyards. The whole Style Guide team were involved with our fabulous photographer Claudio Raschella documenting the day. A unique agricultural fair theme was the couple's vision, with fun and relaxation the order of the day for guests. A few years have passed now since the wedding, and it is so nice to once again revisit such a wonderful day. The perfect inspiration for a country wedding!







The couple spent months before their wedding lovingly making home made jams and preserves for the stunning self serve produce stand for their guests.





The garden inspired selection of flowers included Asters and Dahlias which we arranged in vintage preserving jars. Each jar was finished with a swing tag revealing the flower variety in true agricultural show style.

Three Potato...More
Yesterday I received an order from Three Potato Four in the US - oh how I love their ever-changing range. They were nice enough to include a lovely little surprise within my package - these great metal type slugs, in my initials. Their matt-silver finish matches the finish on my computer perfectly so I have positioned them squarely on my desk - just incase anyone forgets where I work!





They would make a great addition to a wedding tablesetting, one initial letter for each guest - a nice keepsake for everyone. Contact Three Potato Four for more details.

Sunday Suppers
I have been following the Sunday Suppers blog for a little while now and am a huge fan. Sunday Suppers run themed cooking classes in Brooklyn and combine beautiful food with gorgeous table settings. Their latest Supper had a Moroccan theme which included a dessert table by my favourite Amy Atlas (who we featured in Issue 11) and included goodies by talented Aran Goyoaga (from the beautiful blog Cannelle et Vanille). I just wished I lived in NY so that I could go to one of their classes!







The table design below was for a farmers' market dinner. I love the hessian table cloths and menus printed on brown paper bags. Would be perfect for a rustic wedding reception.

Celebrating
A while ago now I blogged about the new David Austin rose, Celebration, that I had bought. We had a dreadful heatwave with over a week of 40 degree + temperatures shortly after I planted it, so I wasn't sure it was going to survive, but survive it did and here is the evidence.

The best part was the glorious fragrance that filled the room from this single bloom. The worst part was that the morning after I took this photo, it had dropped all of its petals into a heap on the table. Something to consider if using garden roses for table or bouquet arrangements - they often don't last longer than a moment.

Wall Art
I found Estate Sale on Etsy - but was taken with the background they use for their shots just as much as the clothes. I've blogged about paper cut art before but never thought of upscaling the idea to wall art. This would be such an effective way to decorate a space - and economical too! All you'd need is an interesting design and a sharp scalpel.
